ALBUM RELEASE DAY
This is our big day. Thanatos Rising is out there for the world to hear. We are super proud of this album and know it's our best to date. We just got an early preview of an album review saying "it's easy to understand how Thanatos Rising can stand up next to the best works of Symphony X, Into Eternity, Trivium, Evergrey, and Bay Area thrash." We are floored and honored to get this reaction.
But what we really want to know is... what do YOU think of it??
There are a lot of options to celebrate with us and help us have an epic release day:

NEW SINGLE OUT TODAY!
"Prisoner to Yourself" is one of Keith's favorites, and here's a short excerpt from the lyrics...
Reality a far cry
Will the reflection in the mirror meet your eye?
Will the embers left rekindle your fire?
I see no hope and no desire
Every single day you let fade away
Gone without a trace
Time is running out, did you figure it out?
Time waits for no one
For any musician nerds, do you hear the intro as eighth notes or triplets? Our band was divided in the way we perceived it, and we debated about how to transition into the first verse. Let us know what you think of this one!
Cheers and enjoy the weekend \m/

We are forever grateful for the Sorizon fam that filmed all of these clips from some unforgettable gigs including opening for Hammerfall at the Grove of Anaheim, opening for Unleash the Archers at the Tiki Bar, and shredding the Viper Room at a Metal Assault show on Danny's birthday, and more. After road-testing, Sorizon re-recorded and mixed Hidden Evils for the upcoming album, Thanatos Rising.
You can listen and download the new album version of Hidden Evils on Bandcamp now, coming soon to Spotify and all online music stores. Pro tip: "Follow" Sorizon on Spotify to get our new singles in your Release Radar!

A first look at the artwork
This art features both Thanatos and a phoenix, representing death and rebirth to match some of the themes and moods of this album. Eliran Kantor really brought this concept to life! No wonder he's the go-to artist for bands like Testament, Iced Earth, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and so many more! We'll be making all kinds of new merch showcasing this piece \m/

Sorizon brosephs and ladybrosephs,
Happy Freakin New Year everyone! I feel the "freakin" should be capitalized, following the grammatical rules of the capitalization of "Happy New Year" as a whole. Chill. No, I'm not a nerd; YOU'RE a nerd!
Okay, now that's out of the way, onto business. You guys... we are soooo close to finishing the new album and it is an absolute beast of an album if I may say so. Would you like to know the title!? No? Alright for sure. Never mind. Wait nah, that’s not cool. I’m going to tell you anyway. The brand new album by radical metal shredders Sorizon is titled THANATOS RISING.
Looks rad in all caps, huh? It has elements that are heavier than ever before, groovier, shreddier, and epicer (You better have pronounced that right in your head, unless you're weird and read it out loud. In which case you better have verbally pronounced it right. The "c" has a K sound, not a Freakin S sound! Yeah, I decided to capitalize “Freakin” again! In the words of Randy Marsh in that classic episode when he takes off his shirt in the bleachers, "Whaddya wanna do, huh? Whaddya wanna do!?").
Dude, so we got the final cover artwork for the album, and IT. IS. GLORIOUS. We worked with a very famous metal cover artist and he really came through for us. Look out for the release of that very soon!
Master songwriter Dr. Danny Mann and master lyricist Keith McIntosh would like to say a few words about our new album:
Even before Keith wrote the lyrics for Thanatos Rising, I was constructing a storyline for the instrumental music with hopes of creating a cohesive flow to the album and extra emotional impact. The instrumental story starts heavy as you face some of the darkest, most difficult times in your life (like death itself), and then gradually you build the strength to overcome it and grow from it all. This sonic story had genuine inspiration because it relates to some of my personal experiences in the past few years. After we composed the whole album, we came up with an album art concept that incorporated both my instrumental story and themes from Keith’s lyrics, particularly from the song "Thanatos Rising." Thanatos was the personification of Death in Ancient Greek mythology, and in Keith's words... "Thanatos Rising is about fixation with Death and it overtaking your thoughts and not being able to escape the worry and fear of the unknown.'" I feel like after 10 years of making music together, we've matured into making the metal that I've always wanted to create. We have pushed ourselves to our best for this one!
Stay tuned for a series of videos about the making of our new album. See and hear what it’s like to be in studio with your favorite Five Guys (no relation to the burger joint). Actually, I’m tired of waiting. Let’s just release one now, yeah!? CLICK HERE to check out our first making-of video for THANATOS RISING.
We will have plenty of updates for you in the coming days/weeks. Be sure to like/comment/subscribe. Wait… this isn’t a stupid YouTube video. Well at least don’t unsubscribe (I love double negatives). That’d be pretty cool if you didn’t do that.
K bye.

What’s up Sorizon family? If you have been wondering if we had died...I can assure you we are alive and well!
We had kick ass shows at the Grove and Tiki Bar opening for Hammerfall and Unleash the Archers, and as much as we want to keep playing shows, we decided if we don’t take a small break we would never get his album rolling.
Currently we are balls deep putting the finishing touches on our new material and have started tracking for the new album. Sean went into beast mode tracking drums and kicked out more than half the songs in a weekend and is heading back to the studio in a couple weeks to finish the remainder. We have gotten to hear one test mix, and I gotta say the drums are sounding thick and tasty! Aside from that, we are all working on pre-production touch ups and getting together for rehearsals to tighten everything up.
We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we are all excited to share this new stuff with you all. In the coming months, we will next be busy tracking for the album as well as organizing and setting up new artwork, getting new merch and online store set up, starting to plan for a music video, cd duplication etc. If you have been to any our shows this past year, chances are you’ve gotten a sample of one or two of the new songs.
Stay tuned for updates we will be sharing our progress with you on Instagram and Facebook (@SorizonOfficial on both) and all social media platforms. We hope everyone an epic Thanksgiving!
-Keith

Greetings, Sorizon brosephs & ladybrosephs,
Just a quick update involving everything within the next week. First things first. Unless you've been living under a rock, you already know we are opening for HammerFall at the Grove of Anaheim in exactly one week. Friday, June 15th to be precise. We take the stage at 7:45 p.m. sharp! Expect some of your favorite classic Sorizon songs as well as some righteously epic newer ones.
We will of course have all of our merch available at the Grove, but we have a little treat for the ultra fans. We have resurrected one of our classic shirt designs and put a slight twist on it. Make sure to pick one up and you'll be able to choose one of our three albums to take home for FREE (Or as my extremely literal dad always says, "...included in the price.")!
If you thought I messed up with punctuation in the previous sentence, you are gravely mistaken.
As of last night, we SOLD OUT of our pre-sale tickets. If you're still interested but have been lagging, we found out that tickets at the door will be just a few bucks extra.
Come party with us and bang your head to the best Sorizon tunes as we play our biggest show ever. See you there \m/
-Tim

Greetings, Sorizon brosephs and lady brosephs,
This is Tim providing you with the newsletter from your absolute favorite band of all time, Sorizon. So I usually start these newsletters trying to think of what the hell I can possibly write in a few paragraphs that will make it sound like we're doing a bunch of rad stuff and make us sound cooler than we actually are. However, I actually do have some rad stuff to talk about, and we're actually kind of cool this time around.
First off, may I mention the pure radness of the fact that we are opening for legendary power metallers, HammerFall, early this summer. June 15th to be precise. After this, we can mark The Grove of Anaheim as a venue we have conquered. This will be our largest venue played yet. If you've been there, you know what's up. If you haven't, then this is your chance. Come party with us while we play and for several hours thereafter on this Friday night while we strain our voices singing gnarly high pitched vocal harmonies to some POWWEERRRR MEETTAAAAALLLL!!! \m/ P.S. Buy tickets from us to help each other out. We sell more tickets (awesome), and you save $17 per ticket (awesome). Ticket link: https://sorizon.bandcamp.com/merch
If you can't wait until June (like the Beach Boys in their song, "Surfin' USA," then I guess you can come see us play next week if you want... We will rip it up at Malone's on Friday, April 27th. Our good friends from Siva will be playing as well. Come check it out! I hope they have that taco bar again. So. Bomb. Now go listen to the Beach Boys. Facebook Event with Details: https://www.facebook.com/events/734293766773889/
Secondly, there is a buttload of new music in the works. Since we released the latest EP, End of Entrapment, you hopefully know that we also released two additional tracks, "Virtual Deception," and "Hidden Evils." In addition to all of that, we have a brand new full album concept in the works that will have at least ten supremely epic songs. We have completely finished writing two of these songs, and there are currently six others in the works. Dr. Mann writes most of the music for Sorizon and he is pumping out ideas left and right. It seems like every day we get a text from him regarding new riffage. In the words of the Doc, "Been burning the midnight oil for Sorizon!" I can't wait to release more details about this album, including the overall concept. It's pretty awesome, and the songs really are coming along very well. Shred.
Thirdly, If you haven't seen any new photos from us recently, then you probably have a life and aren't on social media all day long. Yaaaayyyyy!! But if you are like most of the country, and you are on social media all day long, then chances are you have seen one teaser photo from an exorbitantly large photo set from our most recent photo shoot. Shout out to Karina Diane Concert Photography for her help! I think we were well overdue for this, and the photos came out great. More photos to be released soon. There is a freakin hilarious one in particular that I cannot wait to be released. When you see it, you're going to lulz it up hard, yo. Fun fact, I had laryngitis during this entire photoshoot. Literally couldn't talk at all. Whaaa!?!
Hmm... Well I'm getting pretty hungry now, so I think I'm gonna stop writ
10/13/2017
Greetings, Sorizon Brosephs & Ladybrosephs,
Happy Friday the 13th! Br00talz...
So I know it's been like, 137 days since the last Sorizon update, but in that time, we have played a couple shows, released a new song, and some other relatively awesome stuff that will be mentioned if you don't give up like a quitter, and keep reading this truly righteous newsletter.
Artwork: We have some pretty rad artwork about to be released for our song... drumroll... (Sean, hurry up!!) wait for it... almost... "Virtual Deception." It has some sick throwback gems in it from the late 90s. Stay tuned for further updates in the future!
Band Photos: We are also scheduled to take new band photos in about a week and a half with our good friend, fan, and fantastic photographer, Karina (Facebook link). We are definitely overdue for these so we are super stoked to make this happen.
Songwriting: We haven't played any shows in the past several weeks because we have been focusing on songwriting. Danny, Sean, and Keith have been the victorious leaders in this process so far, and it's going well. In fact, yesterday I just heard a new vocal demo from Keith for a Sorizon song that has been in the making for like three years! We have finally decided to make this song a reality and it's sounding better than ever.
Future: Despite all of this songwriting, we do have one benefit show with our buds from Ed Force One on Saturday, November 4th, titled "Headbanging For Animal Rescue." Check out the event page ***HERE***. It's for a super good cause, cause saving animals is freakin heavy, yo m/
So, like, that's pretty much it I guess. Wow, did you really take the time to read all of that? You really are a true fan of Sorizon. Have a brutal Halloween. Party on.
Farewell,
Tim
5/29/2017
I'm super stoked to release another new Sorizon tune - Virtual Deception - on Bandcamp. Keith did an amazing job writing catchy vocals on this one, and FUN FACT it's our first song with tambourine. Let us know what you think!
Much love,
Danny
5/20/2017
Just a few weeks ago, we were talking about recording two new songs, and I asked the band, "can we release them before the next show?" Keith's jaw dropped, knowing the usual pace of the Sorizon recording and mixing process. Fast-forward past an obsessive few weeks of recording joys, and here we are releasing a brand new tune, "Hidden Evils" on Bandcamp (other stores and Spotify will come later): https://sorizon.bandcamp.com/track/hidden-evils. In proper Sorizon fashion, our two new songs sound completely different from each other. This one is a fast, heavy headbanger and the next one is a catchy, classic metal rocker. We will release "Virtual Deception" next weekend. Can't wait to hear it??? Come to our free show tonight to hear BOTH new songs at The Karman Bar in Laguna Niguel. We are supremely stoked to shred with our buddies in Cerebellion, Novareign and The Decents and celebrate a big ol' bunch of birthdays.
\m/ Danny \m/

Sorizon Brosephs & Ladybrosephs,
This is Tim here with your (anywhere from monthly to annual) Sorizon newsletter. What's up with us you ask? I shall enlighten you. We'll start with the most epic news and move forward to the near-pointless news.
First, we have finally decided to make hard copies of our latest EP, "End of Entrapment." They look and sound freakin rad. Now you can hold, in your grubby little mitts, the album art with the crazy octopus lady and the dude running away who bares a striking resemblance to your favorite Sorizon bassist, Kevin Vickers. Lucky you!! How much are we charging for this lovely EP? Come out to a show and we'll come up with an answer together! Or maybe Keith will even throw out a couple copies, frisbee style, and slice your face! \m/
If you didn't come out to our show in Laguna Niguel this past Saturday because you were binge-watching Netflix and eating Double Stuf Oreos, then sucks for you. You could have got the new EP then. Plus the show was pretty chill. And don't even think about correcting my spelling for the word "Stuf" because that's Oreo's mistake.
I don't really feel like typing in legit paragraph form anymore, so I'm just gonna list some cool shiz that happened/will happen in the past/next few months...
-Sean got a pretty righteous new drumset.
-He also got new cymbals that are supposedly for practicing only but I think they sound better than his "real" cymbals.
-Keith's beard is looking extra burly lately, almost as burly as Kevin's (but still not as righteous as Danny's stash).
-I got a new power supply for my pedal board, making my rig slightly less unreliable.
-I didn't have to report to jury duty the past two days, thinking that I was originally going to have to. Epic.
***Well, prior to my finalizing this newsletter, Keith freakin shaved off his beard entirely, so now he is only slightly burly.
Okay, I'll write in legit paragraph form some more. So, you hardcore Sorizon fans have heard our newest song at the last couple shows. Good news! We have yet another! Well, I still need to write a guitar solo, but everything else is done. I probably should be writing that solo instead of this freakin newsletter, but whateves yo. Now you can hear even more newer songs you're unfamiliar with, even though we all know you just want to hear "Cosmic Eden" and "Lady of the Sea" at every show :P Man, quit complaining! We always play old and new material. Shred! Though we haven't discussed this, I think it's fair to say that we may be playing this new song on May 20, yes?? ...the rest of Sorizon??
As I just revealed, we have a show coming up on May 20th, at the Karman Bar, with our friends from Cerebellion, Novareign, and The Decents. This will be the most epic metal birthday show in the history of mankind (or at least for that weekend), because Kevin, Keith, John and Joe from Cerebellion, and I all have birthdays within a few days from then. You better bring epic birthday presents for all of us that are wrapped, have a pink bow, and a card. You like my use of the Oxford comma? It's totally the most logical option. If you disagree, we can debate this at the show...
I'm probably forgetting some other cool news, but if I haven't thought of it by now, you can just wait for the next newsletter (in anywhere from 1-14 months from now). Man, If you actually read this entire newsletter from beginning to end, bless your metal soul; you really are a true Sorizon Broseph and/or Ladybroseph.
Until next time...
-Tim

I regret to announce that Taylor has decided to part ways with Sorizon for personal reasons. Myself and all of the guys in Sorizon are very thankful towards Taylor for keeping Sorizon going when lead guitarist Danny Mann stepped out of the band in 2015. We recognize Taylor’s contribution was essential to our success, which we very much appreciate. Going forward we will support Taylor in where ever his new musical journey may take him. For all of the Sorizon fans out there please join us in supporting Taylor.
- Sean
Dear Sorizon family,
Saying goodbye is never easy, but sometimes it is for the best. It has been a crazy and fun year, but it is time for me to move on. I want to thank the members of Sorizon for the the wonderful opportunity, and each and every fan who has shown us your love and support, and making me feel like a member of the family from day one . I wish nothing but the best for these guys, and am thankful that I was able to be a part of it.
Sincerely,
Taylor Courier
As we adjust to being a 5-piece again, we are pushing ahead on new material while collectively thinking deeply about the next direction for the Sorizon sound. We'll do everything we can to make it our best work yet. We might even test out a new tune at a show once in a while... The next gig is with local black metal masters - Empyrean Throne, Sicarius and others on February 4 at the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa. RSVP and find more details HERE.
Party hard and be safe Sorizon fam,

Well kiddies, it's that time of the month again! What time of the month you may ask? Are we ovulating? No. Are our menstrual cycles syncing up? I say Nay! Well maybe... But it is Sorizon newsletter time of the month!!! Im here to answer the pressing questions that you, the masses, the John Q Public, have been inquiring so frantically about for the past few weeks!
Kara "Starbuck" Thrase asks:
"Hey super handsome Sorizon guys! Are you working on any new material right now? Just wondering if I have any new lyrics to learn before the next time I see you play. Thanks! Toodles ;) Xoxo Starbuck"
S: No Thank you Kara! As a matter of fact, we have been working on a ton of new material! Their is a good handful of ideas brewing right now in the lab, we're just putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Working out epic new 3 part guitar harmonies is building up an even bigger Sorizon sound. I would definitely plan on having to learn some new lyrics in the near future!! Super heavy and super fun! They shall not disappoint!! Thanks again!
Commander William Adama asks:
"Sup Bra! You got any show n shits like dat?"
S: How eloquently put! For a commanding officer I would have expected a little more formal greeting. But whatevz! I'll follow your lead... Fucks Yea we gots shows!!! Some damn good ones at that!!!

Dr. Gaius Baltar asks:
"Hey there! My daughter keeps asking me ""what's next for you guys?"" Why does she even care? She is only 3! In my professional opinion she is barley even a human yet as far as I'm concerned. I digress."
S: WTF? First off, Tell that little boy of yours he's awesome!! And he gets a free beer coozie next time we run into him at the bar! As for what's in store for Sorizon? What's up fellow metallers! Keith here giving you all an update on what we have been up to. First and foremost thank you to everyone for the support on our EP release and those who have been there since the beginning and continue to support. We have some very exciting stuff going on. This Friday (June 10th) Sorizon will be featured on 95.5 KLOS for the Heidi and Frank show "Stay or Go" segment. If you're unfamiliar with the show, basically they will do a short interview with a couple members of the band then play a song that we submitted and have listeners call in after and critique us and state whether they think we should STAY or GO (if they liked the song or not). So Friday morning when you are sucking down your caffeine, tune in to 95.5 FM around 9 AM and have a listen. We would be stoked if you could call in and vote for us too (1-800-955-KLOS) If enough people like our song and call in and vote STAY for us, they will play a second song and we have the opportunity to play a huge festival put on by the station later in the year. You can also vote online at anytime during or after the show on the KLOS website (http://www.955klos.com/).
Aside from that, we have been working on some new material. Demos are in progress and sounding heavy. Everyone is in the process of doing their part to get the ball rolling on this new material and we can't wait to put some awesome songs together and share them with you all.
As far as live shows go you can find us at the Blacklight District Lounge on June 22 in Long Beach where we will be sharing the stage with our brothers in Mobile Deathcamp (featuring ex Gwar member Todd Evans). Then we have July 22 at Fitzgerald's Pub in Huntington Beach and August 5 at The Underground in Santa Ana. Don't miss these gigs as we will now be featuring THREE GUITARISTS! That's right the almighty Danny Mann is returning to shred with us. Thanks for listening to me ramble and stay tuned to our social media for additional updates.
Cheers!
-Keith

Hi Everybody!
Taylor here, with my first ever Sorizon newsletter! We’ve got some exciting stuff ahead, but first off let me say thanks on behalf of the whole band to everyone who helped make our EP release for End of Entrapment a spectacular, and dare I say… RADICAL experience. You guys really made it special with your support and kind words along the way.
And speaking of kind words, our album has gotten some glowing reviews from the online metal community!
Sadistic1 on The Metal Archives had this to say: "End of Entrapment" displays the veteran status of Sorizon with powerful lyric delivery, harmonies, well placed guitar solos, hard and fast drumming and bass that is not drowned out.” (95/100)
And Metal Nexus: “Universal appeal is a tall order and all too often a recipe for a train wreck, but with the energy and obvious cohesion of its members, Sorizon never once comes off the rails.” You can read the full reviews and more at http://www.sorizon.net/reviews
What’s that? You bought our new EP? But you wanna hear it again but LOUDER? Well then do I have news for you! We’ve got some sweet shows coming up, and YOU’RE INVITED!
On Thursday April 21st, we will be thrashing it up at The Karman Bar for OCML’s Thrasher Thursdays (it’s free ya cheapskates) On Friday April 29th, we make our way over to Colton, CA to raise some hell over at The Hub. And lastly we’ll be playing at the Blacklight District Lounge in Long Beach on Wednesday, June 22nd. Metal on a Wednesday? Fuck yeah.
And many more to come! Keep up with us on the Facebooks and the Twitters and all relevant social media for updates (we thought about getting a band Snapchat but were worried Kevin would just use it for dick pics).
Until next time folks!
Taylor Courier
P.S. Danny’s coming back ;)

2/11/2016
This is your Sorizon newsletter for February 2016 brought to you by Sean on the drums. Sorizon is proud to announce its third album release End of Entrapment on March 11, 2016. Here's the official debut of the artwork and tracklist:
1. Falling
2. Lay to Waste
3. Poisonous Kiss
4. Bypass the Pain
5. Minutemen
6. Cosmic Eden (Acoustic)
End of Entrapment will be available on Bandcamp, iTunes, and Spotify. This will start as a digital release, so please show your support by heading over to the previous stated services, thank you kindly. Along with the new album, comes custom artwork for End of Entrapment by Tony Koehl. The lyrical content of this album carries the theme of escaping both physical and mental bonds. Tony's artwork depicts the theme of End of Entrapment; a prisoner escaping the grasps of eminent doom. Tony is an amazing artist that blends both hand drawn techniques and the digital art medium together in a seriously brutal way. Take the time to check out some of his other works at http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/tony-koehl.html.
There are many firsts for this new record. It has the fastest (most brutal) song of any Sorizon release "Lay to Waste," and the shortest song of any Sorizon release "Minutemen." This is also the first Sorizon album featuring our bad ass bassist, Kevin Vickers, who totally killed it. Here at Sorizon we pride ourselves on celebrating all types of metal (death, speed, power, thrash, glam, core, etc.), and our new album End of Entrapment is the finest example to date of our broad stylistic execution. It's also the shortest album being only 6 songs; however, this means we were able to bring you this album in a quicker turnaround time than previously possible! Being the guy mixing and mastering this album, I will also add it's the best sounding Sorizon album to date, CHECK IT OUT!
Sorizon is celebrating the release day with a show at the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa, CA on Friday, March 11th with Boracho, Voices of Ruin, Darkale, Dawn of Eternity, and Necozombiac. Join the Facebook event HERE. Hope to see you there!

Sorizon brosephs, and ladybrosephs,
So, we meet again for this apparent semi-annual Sorizon update. What's new, you ask? Let us begin with the most righteously bodacious news. We are now ready to continue our journey playing supreme epic shows for YOU with the assistance of our brand new guitarist, Mr. Taylor Courier (That's French, right?). This dude is rad; like, we're talking fresh carrot juice-rad. He is quickly becoming a good friend of ours in the short amount of time we've known him. I suppose you could say, in the words of Rob Schneider in Big Daddy, we all "go together like lamb and tuna fish." Anybody had that? Yeah, me neither. It's probably not too bad though. Likely not as bomb as fresh carrot juice, but you know... Anyway, Taylor is an extremely tight, rippin guitar player and we're all having an awesome time jammin' classic and new Sorizon tunes.
Come see for yourself! We're playing at good ol' Malone's Bar and Grill on January 2, 2016. Come celebrate the new year and welcome Taylor! Click HERE to see the official event page. I of course have to mention another special treat for this show. You guys remember Dr. Danny Mann, don't you? Damn right! Well word on the street is he will be in town and may or may not be at the show. He also just might jump on stage to shred a song with us. Maybe even more than one! :o I hope I'm not giving away the surprise! If you can't make that show, we also have the honor of playing SIVA's CD release party, coincidentally also at Malone's, the following week, January 9th. Take your pick!
We're also in the middle of recording our latest EP, which is... wait, no. We're done recording. We're even done mixing. WHAAT!? Yeah, dude. Sorizon is all over the place with the radical variety of metal sub-genres on this thing. It even trips us out! The EP is called "End of Entrapment" and will be released very, very soon. Keep your eyes out for that one! If you'd like a aural preview, that's yet another reason to come out to one of our upcoming shows! Okay, I think that's about all I have to report for now. Thank you for your continued support and for taking a couple minutes to read these updates. We all look forward to seeing you soon! Until next time...
Tim

Dear Sorizon family,
If you haven't already heard, we are having an EPIC farewell gig for me on May 30th at Malone's Bar in Santa Ana! Sorizon will be headlining this show with an EXTRA radical set, and get there early because we hand-picked a killer lineup. I'm stoked to get on stage for a few songs with The Circus Kids. This could be the last Sorizon gig for a while as we find a new guitarist. We have already started talking to some people but haven't yet started auditions, so please contact us if you or someone you know might be interested.
Lastly, check out video from our last gig with some sweet GoPro footage on my guitar. It's a brand new song - Poisonous Kiss.

Can't wait to shred for you on May 30 \m/ More details and RSVP HERE.
Much love,
Danny

Sorizon Family,
It is with much sorrow and yet much joyfulness that we officially announce that our founding guitarist Danny Mann will be leaving Sorizon. Danny Mann, as many of you probably have heard has recently received his PhD and has been working at a local college. Danny will be relocating this summer to Boston to fulfill his recently acquired position. We are all very proud of him and these huge accomplishments.
As some of you know, Sean, Danny and myself have been the core of the band being the founding members and sticking together through other guitarist and bassists. Playing music with these guys for about ten years now has been one of the most awesome and glorifying things in my life. To hear how far Danny and us as a band have progressed throughout the years is insane. It will definitely be rough to find someone with such unique writing and guitar technique as Mann. Sometimes i sit back and listen to a demo and think...."How the hell did you come up with that?" Its like a story playing through my headphones. Mann is the most humble and skilled guitarist/writer I've had the pleasure of working with and as good a friend as anyone could ask for. Danny has stated that he would still like to be a contribution to Sorizon in any way possible and we will definitely hold him to that.
The band is still in the mix of working out the details as to finding a new guitarist and all that but we will keep you posted; In the meantime we are full throttle working on fresh recordings for the next album/Ep. Drums are tracked and sounding thick and guitars are coming along quickly. Until Danny's departure we are focused on recording the new material as well as shredding the stage playing as many shows as possible. So keep your eyes our for our upcoming gigs and get your b-holes out there!
Cheers!-Keith
From Danny: Hey everyone,
Sorizon has been a huge part of my life for the last 7 or 8 years, and I hate to move away from such a bad ass band. I love all the members of Sorizon like brothers, and there's no bad blood whatsoever. I think this is evident with the heartfelt statement Keith made about my departure. In a lot of ways, I've considered Sorizon my baby since I've been a primary songwriter and led much of the business side of the band with promotion, booking, music production, manufacturing, and so on.
I want to clarify that I'm only physically leaving the band. I intend to continue collaborating with songwriting, recording, and various promotional/managerial tasks that I can do from afar. I don't know what my exact title will be in the band, but I'm not quitting on the band. Anyone who has seen us lately knows that the band is only getting better and better. I'm really excited about our new EP that we are currently recording because Sorizon just continues to improve (and I always thought we were pretty good ;) ).
Who knows, this long-distance thing could make the band more productive because it will really become a 6-person project rather than 5. Realistically, our team is much bigger because we have the most amazing partners, friends, family and fans that work as hard as we do with their support.
My first task to kick-off my continued support is to find a new guitarist and help them in person while I'm around. If you or anyone you know might be up for the challenge and incredible opportunity, please contact us ASAP for more details. I'm looking forward to adding to the Sorizon team \m/
Much love,
Danny

Sorizon brosephs and ladybrosephs,
Yo! Hopefully we've seen you at one of our many shows lately. Why the hell has it been so long since we've sent out a "monthly" newsletter, you may ask? The best answer I have for you guys is that we have been writing a buttload of new epicly radical metal. We have demos galore that do not disappoint; the groovin brutality will gently rip your face off. You like that correct usage of a semicolon? Aaahhhhh yeeaaaaahhhh.
Speaking of semicolons, we are extremely stoked and privileged to be playing NAMM's after party on Saturday, January 24 with Devil City Angels - a new supergroup featuring former L.A. GUNS guitarist Tracii Guns alongside drummer Rikki Rockett (POISON), bassist Eric Brittingham (CINDERELLA), and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Brandon Gibbs (CHEAP THRILL). Hit us up for discounted tickets! This show is gonna be freakin rad! RSVP on Facebook HERE.
We are also playing an ALL AGES show on February 21 in Huntington Beach with our good friends from Empyrean Throne, Voices of Ruin, and Darkale. RSVP on Facebook HERE.
We appreciate you taking a minute to read these seldomly sent e-mails and stay updated with Sorizon news. Now go get pumped and listen to Atlantis or watch a skate video or something \m/

SOMNUS is here! You can stream, buy and download high quality audio files from our new Bandcamp page (as well as download a sweet digital booklet!). All the tracks are available to listen for free on our Facebook, Official Site, Reverbnation, and YouTube pages! You can download the digital booklet for free HERE. The album is being processed for iTunes, Spotify, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, eMusic, and more… it should be up everywhere within the coming week or two. Physical CDs will arrive just in time for our album release show October 18th at Malone’s in Santa Ana! We’re playing the whole new album from start to finish, it’s gonna be HEAVY. Here’s a statement from each band member about SOMNUS including their current favorite track \m/
Tim Hall (guitar):
What are your thoughts on SOMNUS, now that it’s being released?
This album rules. Each song is an enormous leap forward, but don’t worry. We aren’t pulling a St. Anger on you guys! ;) We spent a freakin’ exorbitant amount of time on this album and I almost can’t even believe it’s finished. Anyway, my friends, please do enjoy the epicness that is SOMNUS.
And favorite track?
Slumber Into Death. :) I have a feeling everyone will pick that!
Sean Elston (drums):
Tell us about your experience recording SOMNUS.
SOMNUS is my favorite album to date, it has some real rock paced songs that are standouts for me. My favorite moment was recording drums at Tim’s parent’s house in an oversized garage, which made me feel like a real drummer for a short while- before returning to the practice closet! Note to the listener: because the album’s finished means you can now enjoy it. For me, it means I can start my plan of attack for the next album today.
What’s your favorite track?
The Second Betrayal or Slumber. Did other people say Slumber already?
Keith McIntosh (vocals):
What was your experience recording SOMNUS?
It was a fun and challenging experience tying the concept and theme together with the different ideas and vocals.
What was your favorite song?
My favorite song to write lyrics for was The Second Betrayal, and right now my favorite to perform is Twisted Hands of Fate, I like the energy and it’s really heavy and there are a lot of different vocals styles used that I like.
Kevin Vickers (bass):
How does it feel now that SOMNUS has officially been released?
Even though I wasn’t a part of the writing or recording of this album, I am still super proud to be a part of it now! It is truly inspiring to now be a part of such a good group of dudes with such extreme talent and dedication to this art. The song structures and melody lines still totally blow me away every time I listen to them. SOMNUS is seriously going to fucking melt faces off, and I can’t wait to help do it some justice live!!! Boo Ya!!
And what’s your favorite track?
They all actually stink!
Hmmmm…
Morpheus I think is my favorite right now. I really like how many different elements make up the song. It seems very chaotic but somehow ends up being really cohesive in the end.
Jack Payne (SOMNUS bassist, former Sorizon member):
How was recording for SOMNUS?
Tracking bass parts for this album was the hardest recording I’ve ever done. We all tend to write songs that stretch our playing ability and it’s been amazing to hear our creations grow the way they did!
And what’s your favorite track?
Tough call… probably Twisted Hands of Fate actually- so technical and catchy.
Danny Mann (guitar):
What was your experience recording SOMNUS?
As one of the main songwriters, I was really stoked to form a true writing collaboration with every member of the band. Everyone is so kick ass and had great ideas to contribute, so each song really improved with everyone’s shredtastic ideas. I’m really proud of everyone, we pushed ourselves to the limit in every respect for this album: songwriting, tracking, and mixing.
What is your favorite track on the album?
My favorite track is Illusions. I’m really proud of how I was able to translate my post-apocalyptic ocean dream (see the album cover) into this song, and I LOVE playing the guitar solos and harmonizing with Sir Timothy. Escaping the Witch is my other favorite. Damn, I totally love all of the songs.
NOW GO LISTEN TO SOMNUS \m/
9/22/2013

Our new bassist Kevin is contributing a lot in the field of adding new bass licks to new and old songs, and he is taking the roll of adding even more vocal harmonies when we play live. And if you haven't seen what he looks like yet, you're gonna be like, "dude..."
I gotta say, I'm pretty psyched that our voices are set up perfectly for a barbershop quartet. If that ever happens (in fairytale land with epic dragons and unicorns battling whilst soaring into the horizon, I mean Sorizon), we'll have Sean backing us up with some gnarly double bass triplets or gallop rhythms. Or he could probably just play piano because he's multi-talented like that. Booyah.
The latest mixes of the new songs sound way better than ever before. No really, they sound amazing. Everything is really coming together and we're close to finishing. I could give you another estimated release date, but I don't want to pull a 'Wintersun' and make you all wait six years thinking it's going to come out every four months. All I can say is, be ready...

As I sit here and contemplate what exactly to write to the hundreds, Nay, Thousands of Sorizon friends and fans whom I have never met, I wonder which direction to take this news letter of sorts. You will soon learn to love my crude sense humor and uncanny ability to not take anything too seriously. Any who. That being said. Lets start at Danny, Sean and I meeting up at a bar for the first time to talk and see if we were on the same page.
(This is my take on how it went down, this is in NO WAY accurate)
Danny: Hey man, im Danny Mann and this is Sean.
points to the fellow next to him, who oddly takes a bow to everyone in the room like he was about to conduct an orchestra
Me: Howdy Partners! Names Kevin, but you can call me Kev or Vin for short.
im still debating weather or not his last name is really Mann. He lucked out in the name pool!
Sean: Where are ya from? (as he stares uncomfortably longingly into my eyes)
Me: Pennsauken, New Jersey. A kick ass little town outside of Philadelphia.
Danny: Awesome Bro! I love that town! So what bands have you been in before? Whats your experience?
Dannys armpits uncontrollably sweating with excitement, all he can think to himself is "dang this dude is handsome." and "should i get the Salmon or the Gumbo?"
Me: My most recent projects were Mensrea (tech thrash metal featuring members of GWAR) and Throne from Royalty (heavy rock all star band out of Jersey). Ive been playing in bands for about 17 years now and touring the counrty since just after high school.
Now im sweating like crazy cause i can see that Danny has almost soaked through his shirt, over having the great food debate of 2012 going on in his head! And where are the 5 beers i telepathically ordered!! ARGGHHH
Sean: Totally Radical! So you are new to Cali? (still staring at me intently, never blinks, never even looks at the menu)
Sean and Dannys telepathy beers arrive to the table. FUCK!!! forgot mine!!
Me: Excuse me kind sir, I think you may have forgot mine?
Sir: Nope, You. Didnt. Order. One!
Looking me right in the eyes and proceeds to cough in my face, then so rudely just walks away
Me: Uhhh.. Ok... So, yes im new to California and loving it! Im a total beach babe as you can tell.
as I point to my privates. This make it even more uncomfortable of a first date
Danny: Thats TESTACULAR!! (he did the thing when you want to say two words, but mix them together somehow. Testicles and Spectacular. Not really sure which word he was actually going for though)
Me: Totes!
Sir comes back to take our order
Sir to Danny: Can I take your order?
Danny: Huh??
Sir to Sean: and you?
Sean: Meat and Cheese Plate pweeese.
Sir to Me: You smell like manure, so ill just order for you. (I swear i saw him jot down "turd wrapped in burnt hair" for my order. I fuckin saw it!!)
Sir back to Danny: Has my handsome little man decided? Grilled cheese? Hot Dog? Maybe the chicken fingers would cure your big boy appetite?? (said like he was talking to a little kid, as if i needed to explain that given the text)
Weird looks from everyone
Danny: . . . . . . . . . uhhh. . . . can i have another min
Me interrupting Danny: HE WANTS THE FUCKIN SALMON!!
We proceed to leave immediately after ordering, not to mention, i could go on all night making up stories of our misadventures that we havent really had yet! And reading back on this, it seems we would only have been at the bar for about 2 minutes. So I may have missed a few key points of dialog. those details arent important.
So from there, all the awkwardness aside, I was invited to try out for the band and was STOKED!!!! I was searching through tons of musicians since i had gotten to California, and looking for the perfect match of dudes that were fun, down to earth, and were gonna challenge my playing. And ohhh they did. The chip was quickly knocked off my shoulder once i met Tim and Keith and saw the caliber of musicians I was about to be playing with in Sorizon! And i couldnt be happier!
As i end my first Sorizon news letter, i just want to tell everyone to come on out and support!! I am dying to meet every fan and every friend of the band! I love talking to new people and cant wait to rock the fuckin stage for ya!!!!!!!! Shows are starting to get booked, the album is coming together, and i plan on exhausting every resource I have to help bring this band to the level it deserves to be at!! RAWK!!!!!!

So that's our new bassist Kevin haha! As you can tell, he's a hilarious, charming man (boy did he nail that first date) with mega bass chops, so we are really stoked to welcome him to the Sorizon family! In other news, we placed 2nd in the Project Independent competition by just 1 point!!! We are so grateful to everyone that helped support by coming out to our Whisky show and voting online for us last month- seriously, we have the best friends, fans and family. Lastly, we have finally released the front cover artwork for our new album SOMNUS by Dennis Hamilton... check it out here. Read the caption to learn the inspiration behind the artwork (which also inspired the new song "Illusions").

Friends and fans of Sorizon,
Big news! Remember when Sorizon played the Whisky-a-go-go last September? Well Project Independent has accepted us to participate in their annual contest to win a ton of new gear and go on a national tour lasting four fortnights! For those of you who do not know radical outdated ancient speak, that means two months of stage-shredding across the US. There are a mere 48 other bands involved in this and there is only one other band from California that was accepted to participate. We are honored to have this privilege, but we need your help!
On December 1st, an online voting process begins at www.projectindependent.net. Here you can vote for Sorizon and help us win this thing! While there are other factors that contribute to the winner of the contest, the online voting is key.
Okay, enough about that. Did you check out the website yet? It has been thoroughly updated. You can now buy CDs and t-shirts directly from the website under the "Merchandise" tab. You can even stream and download the entire "Behind The Emerald Starscape" album for free (Whaaaat!?!) Oh yeah, does anyone want to see the cover art for the new album? How about the track list? Stay tuned ;)
We'd also like to give a shout out to all of our thousands of new fans that have discovered us in the last month. To all the new fans from Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Nepal, India, Portugal, Spain, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia and more... Gracias & Thanks to everyone for joining the Sorizon family. The future is looking pretty epic.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING \m/

P.S. We have had a few bassist auditions that went well, but we are still accepting auditions and hope to fill the bassist position ASAP! Contact us for details. [note from Danny]

This is Sean bringing you the monthly Sorizon update. Unfortunately as most of you know we're in the process of looking for a new bassist. If you do know of someone that would like to play in our band please help us out it's not easy to find the right bassist. The last that I heard we do have at least 3 bassists who are going to be trying out in the near future, hopefully they kick ass at their instrument and we can go back to playing shows and promoting our new album.
Onto info about the new album. BREAKING NEWS the name of the new album will be titled SOMNUS. The artwork has been recently finished for CD case front and back, the subject being epic Underwater Apocalypse Radness, I think you will like it.
Tracking for the album is pretty much finished and has been for about a month or so. Last week Danny got inspiration to create a new lead guitar part over the intro of the album that we're all super happy with, after hearing the lead everyone in the band instantly said something along the lines of "Yes I like that!" Probably everyone that hears the album will have the same reaction.
It's hard to say when the new Sorizon album will be released. When your writing, producing, recording, editing, mixing your own band's music there is a lot of strong opinions about how things should be done, sound, organized, changed, or not changed, etc. Yes there has been a lot of heated debates already and there will be more, but this is understandably normal. Moving ahead knowing how confident I am that the music is Amazing there really is no reason to give up now on the finished product. So...It will be finished when its ready, and when it is I can guarantee it will be something worth giving a listening.
See you at the next gig!

I'll cut to the chase. Jack is leaving the band and here is his official statement:
"My metal friends,
I'm going to be traveling a lot in the next few months so I must announce my departure from Sorizon. It's been a lot of fun playing music with these guys and creating some new incredibly heavy songs. I will be playing the next two shows at Whisky-A-Go-Go on 9/2 and our set on 9/8 at Thrashyr Metal Fest 3. After that I'm off to new adventures. With lots of interesting music and everyone's most excellent attitudes, Sorizon will find a new player to finish the most epic lineup yet."
Jack is one hell of a bassist and a good friend, so we are bummed to see him go. Still, we respect his decision and we need someone who is available to play a lot of shows to launch our new album this fall/winter. Sorizon is officially on the hunt for a new bassist. If you or anyone you know would be interested in auditioning please email us at [email protected] for details.
Since these are Jack's final shows, we want to see everyone out there showing their love, headbanging, and moshing skills for a proper farewell. Our Whisky tickets are $15 and for the Thrashyr Metal Fest show we have a limited amount of FREE tickets! Please contact us ASAP for either.
By the way, in case you heard about our Sept 30th show, we have cancelled that so we can focus on auditioning bassists and wrapping up the new album. Also, the studio diary videos are now featured in the "Multimedia" section of the website. See you all at the shows \m/

What's up friends and fans? This is Keith letting you know what's going on with band. We have some exciting news, first off recording is going well, we are done tracking for the most part and are in the process of doing some editing and first stages of mixing. Everything is sounding very heavy thus far and we cannot wait to finish up and show everyone what we have been working on. We have also found an artist who has begun laying out the design for the album cover and back side and let me tell you it is looking epic. The theme for the design is based on an apocalyptic type dream that Danny Mann had that is also the theme for one of the new songs. We also have some shows coming up for the first time since our last show at hob in December so we are pretty excited to give the new material a go and get back on stage. We will be playing September 2nd at the Whisky A Go Go (contact us for tix) so be sure to check out the LIVE DATES tab on the website and our facebook for info on that as well as the other upcoming shows. We have also posted a new studio diary HERE with me tracking some stuff and acting like a dork Haha as well as some acoustic recording and solo stuff so also check that out if you haven't already. That's it for now, we will be sure to keep everyone updated with the album as it progresses. Hope everyone is having an epic summer.
Cheers
-Keith

Friends and fans of Sorizon,
This is Tim here reporting the latest radness that has been happening with Sorizon this past month. Jack has kicked everyone's ass by recording some of the most killer bass work that is far superior to most. I mean this very literally. The new tracks are filled with ballsy low end brutality with virtuosic taps and unexpected shifting bass harmony. However, it is perfectly simplified and pleasantly mellow when appropriate.
Check out our second studio diary video HERE which shows our progress since the last video. In it, Jack talks about his bass gear and our recording gear and you can see his thoroughly ridiculously fast fingers. You'll also get a sneak peek at a couple more of our new tracks. If you have yet to see our first studio video, click HERE.
We have now finished re-amping all of the bass guitar and have moved on to recording vocals. The first track that Keith recorded sounds so incredible. Both the quality of the recording (which we have our awesomely overpriced microphones and preamps to thank) as well as the power of Keith's voice sound super gnarly, the good kind of gnarly. I am overly psyched to listen to the finished vocal products.
Sorizon was featured in an article on the Project Fresh website which you can check out HERE.
We also just did an audio interview for Rok Out Radio this past week with Lady Spitfire. She was super cool and now we have another online radio station blasting our tunes.
For the next month or so, we will be finishing up recording vocals, as well as recording all of Danny's and my shreddy lead guitar action. All I can say is that you will not be disappointed by lack of harmony epicness or anything like that; that's for sure. You will overdose on that shit. Until next time...
-Tim

Hello metalheads!
This is Jack reporting in on the current album progress. I've been tracking for a few weeks now and filling in the low end of the truly epic recordings that Sean, Tim and Danny have begun (see the our first Official Studio Video posted above). It's challenging work but the I love a challenge, especially when the end product is so rad.
I've been using my Rickenbacker 4003 to track these parts because it has such a meaty raw sound- there's a reason those basses have been used on everything from Deep Purple to early Metallica (Cliff Burton anyone?). I haven't been using my amp yet, but we are going to reamp the signal and make sure that I get the absolute gnarliest tone possible. Almost all guitarists use tube amps, but for some reason many bass players don't favor them as highly. Well, being a total gearhead (like everyone else in the band) I love the sound and feel of a nice fat tube amp. I can't wait to finish up the tracks and run them through my rig- it is going to sound awesomely brutal.
After I finish up with this stuff I believe Keith is next on the lineup to track some of his signature insane vocals. I've heard the stuff he has written for the album and it sounds oh so sick. I truly believe that Sorizon is creating something memorable and I'm really stoked to be part of this project.

Hello internet this is Sean from Sorizon bringing you this month's Sorizon newsletter. This is going to be all about recording our second album (the name is yet to come) since we're right in the middle of recording it. I'll start off by talking a little bit about the concept of the type of sound that we're trying to achieve.
BIG UPDATE: DRUMS AND RHYTHM GUITARS ARE FINISHED FOR 9 SONGS ON THE NEW SORIZON ALBUM!!!!!!! THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SONGS IS A SECRET EVEN I DON'T KNOW.
One day this idea got in my head that this Sorizon album needs to be recorded live. Most of my favorite Rock records from the old days were recorded live, there's nothing like it when all the instruments are in one room grooving and riffing off each other. With much effort convincing the band everyone adopted the live idea, but due to physical limitations we're only recording drums and guitars at the same time. It hasn't been easy recording live, everyone has so far had some break down due to the sheer stress of going through all the takes (and mistakes) as a team. Quoting Tim from what I can remember, "I just can't play this part anymore, my brain is not functioning, the more I play this the more it becomes a blur, it just gets worse and worse." The reason I can joke about this is because only one hour after Tim said those things we had finished recording 2 difficult songs for both drums and guitars in one day. All it usually takes to regain our composure is the sight of daylight for a few minutes then it's back into the garage of doom!
For this recording (me being the drummer I'll start with the drums) I want the drums to sound huge and spacious, like Led Zeppelin . I did a lot of research on how to get a sound like that on drums and it turns out, big drum sounds = big room, and this is a problem because our normal studio practice space is only 8 feet by 10 feet. Long story short Tim's house has a detached garage (more like a barn with vaulted 15' tall ceilings) that is mostly empty. So we set the drums up in there in one corner with 16 mics, guitars off to the side with 4 mics, and 2 room mics in the opposite corner about 20 feet away from the drums. I really wanted to get away from using drum triggers/sound replacement/sampling which are all techniques that make drums sound super cool but!, and it's a big but, it makes the performance sound fake to me. Overall the drums are sounding amazing and we're capturing the sound that I imagined in my head.
Although I do contribute a lot to the recording process, both Tim and Danny made all the choices on how to capture their guitar sounds , so I'll leave it up to them to explain the guitar tone in a future news letter.
Jack and Keith are both eager to contribute their part to the recordings. I heard Jack has restrung his bass 2 times recently in preparation for tracking. Keith has really up'd his game for this album. We have made demos for everyone song on the album so far, Keith has put his vocal parts/harmonies/lyrics to all of these. The whole band openly discusses the strengths and weaknesses of the music and the vocals and then we go back and reiterate our work, in some cases multiple times. Thank you Keith, and everyone else for the hard work. Ok that's a wrap Sorizon OUT!

Hey Sorizonheads,
In case you haven't already been blasted on Facebook, a few great things are happening for Sorizon right now and we want to share them with all of you!
First, voting is now open for the Project Independent metal band competition to win about $50,000 in prizes and endorsements and to go on a 60 day national tour next year! If you saw us at the Whisky in September, you were a part of the beginning of this process were we received a perfect score on our judged performance (and all around band professionalism). That was the first step and to advance further we need everyone to vote for us at www.projectindependent.net! No email address required! You can vote once a day and after Dec 10th, we'll see if we advance to the next round. We really need everyone's help, it just takes a couple seconds a day.
Next, we're going to be on the KUCI Nerd Metal show tonight from 9-10pm with our friends Cerebellion. We will be promoting our House of Blues show on Tuesday and giving away a couple tickets to callers! If you're in OC listen at 88.9 FM and if you're anywhere else you can listen at KUCI.org.
Lastly, be sure to come to our House of Blues show on Tuesday!! It's going to be really fun and our last show for a while before we hit the studio to record our second full-length album.
Have a very metal weekend everyone

Whats up our loyal metal soldiers? The month of massive turkey slaughter and gut stuffing is upon us, a perfect time for Sorizon to start getting serious with our new material. After a crazy month of shows in October (which was a lot of fun) we are finally weaning off gigs in order to focus on our new songs. The October shows were awesome! We played two halloween sets in which we all rocked out in our get ups and had the honor of opening up for the metal veterans Anvil at the legendary Coach House. The preparation for the new album is going very well and we are all very excited to get this thing rolling. If you havent been to a show in a while I can tell you that the new songs will definitely satisfy your metal appetite. They are heavier with the introduction of 7 string guitars, they are faster and another thing that is very cool is that we have alot more collaboration between all band members in the writing of the new material. We are hoping to start tracking in December and we'll keep you updated along the way. We are playing a special final show of the year on the 6th of December. We will be performing at the House of Blues in Anaheim for a toy drive show with our friends Cerebellion. We are all very stoked to be playing this show as we have yet to play a show at this venue. Tickets are 10 bux pre-sale and they are also doing a raffle in which you can win Disneyland passes and other great prizes if you bring a toy for charity, go to our Facebook page to rsvp and get more info. Some other exciting news is that our last album "Behind the Emerald Starscape" is now available for purchase on Amazon.com, so if you or anyone you know would like to buy a copy, that is another one of the many resources to get it. We are also crossing our fingers in hopes to get it on Pandora so we shall see what becomes of that. Well...thats it for now, we will be sure to keep all you metal heads updated with whats new and exciting in the world of Sorizon. Have an epic Holiday and month of November! Eat drink and be Metal! Cheers
-Keith
PS. Keep checking our Facebook for some great live Sorizon videos within the next few days by Alexis Villa and his crew! - Danny

Friends and fans of Sorizon,
There has been like infinity tons of awesomeness happening with Sorizon lately. Since the last update, we played the show with Diamond Head at the Galaxy Theatre and we were also a part of Project Independent & Metal Sanaz's metal showcase at The Whisky A Go Go. Project Independent will be making a documentary of their US tour which will feature Sorizon. A perfect score of 30 out of 30 was given to us by the crew so we are all pretty psyched about that. In addition to these big shows, we also had a few shows at bars in LA and OC. If you made it out to any of these shows, we thank you for your support!
Thanks to our film crew from the Galaxy show, we now have three HD quality camera angles from our entire set. We've decided to wait to release this footage for future promo/music video stuff. The good news is we just recorded and filmed some live tracks for a new season of webisodes featuring the best local OC/LA bands by Alexis Villa and his crew. We can't thank him enough for all the work he's put into helping Sorizon with bad ass videos lately. The webisode video for Beauty in Darkness will be done really really soon! Keep an eye out for it in the next couple days.
The song-writing process is still going well and we have been playing 3 new songs live lately (plus a new instrumental intro) and have been getting amazing responses. In addition, we also have roughly seven more new songs which are nearly completed. I'd like to point out that this new material is very different (yet still supremely rad) from the first album but it sounds exactly like Sorizon and nothing else. Each song is serious very unique but they are all epic and heavy.
We have three shows at the end of this month including TWO Halloween shows where the band will perform in riduclous costumes- you will love it.
Thank you for taking an entire two or so minutes of your time to read this \m/ Until next time...

Hello Sorizon Fans!
First off, we've had some really fun shows recently where we played extended almost hour long sets packed with new and old Sorizon tunes. We appreciate all the great feedback on the new songs we've played live namely "Captor of Dreams" and the doomy epic (~8 minutes) "Illusions." For the new album, more vocals and lyrics have been written recently, and they sound kick ass! Just a couple more songs need to be hashed out instrumentally then it will just be vocals needed to complete our demoing of the upcoming album. We're working hard on collaborating in every aspect of the creation of this new album so the finished product will reflect everyone's hard work and ideas. Also, Jack and Tim are contributing some songs that offer new perspectives, but fit in perfectly with the Sorizon sound.
I think it's safe to say that the theme of the next album is dreams. Both the lyrical and musical content have mostly been inspired by dreams of some sort, sometimes personal ones that we experienced. The new Sorizon music is getting heavier, more powerful, and "mature" while furthering our main goal of creating a new style of metal that has a lot of feeling. The addition of Tim and Jack has expanded our creativity and live show quite a bit. You really have to see us live if you haven't come out to the last few shows. There's a newfound energy and chemistry on stage that we are loving! We have two big ALL AGES shows coming up where we need everyone's support. We are selling discount tickets to these shows, so please purchase through us ASAP! Again, we have a PayPal account for anyone who can't meet in person for their tickets.
August 18th 8pm at the Galaxy Theatre, Santa Ana. Opening for Diamond Head (and an international tour from England)
September 4th 8pm at the Whisky A- Go Go, Hollywood for an all day metal festival
Lastly, you need to check out the new "Members" section of the official Sorizon website: www.sorizon.net. You'll get a personal, in depth perspective on each band member written by other bandmates. They are really fun to read if I may say so myself. Everyone is really happy to work with each other, and I think it will really show when we play live and with the quality of the next album.

Hello fans of Metal!!!!
This is the Sorizon news letter for the month of July 2011 brought to you by Sean. Right now is a very exciting time. To count the amount of new Sorizon songs takes more than your two hands worth of fingers......"I KNOW HOLY SHIT".....which means Sorizon is very close to cashing in these songs to create what will be the 2nd official Sorizon album. Sorizon has been fortifying its efforts to make this new album a "historical achievement in what is the history of Heavy Metal"....as well as spending thousands of dollars on overpriced equipment :)...to make things sound "HEAVY"!!!!
If you happen to run into Tim Hall the new guitar player of Sorizon congratulate him for learning the entire back catalog of Sorizon songs as well as the plethora of new ones, in a record breaking time.
Sorizon has been gaining momentum this month at an astounding rate. If they keep on this trajectory they will reach the moon by early next year. Anyways, in all seriousness there's no better time to see a Sorizon concert than now. The healthy catalog of Sorizon shows should suffice the needs of even the most demanding of Metal fans. Upcoming Sorizon shows will feature at least 2 new original songs!
The members of Sorizon will be honored to see you at any (or all) of the following Sorizon shows:
July 16, 2011 - Que's Bar w/Aurora Black, Rosemead CA 21+
July 29, 2011 - Malone's Bar, Santa Ana 21+
August 1, 2011 - Rock's, Laguna Niguel 21+
August 18, 2011 - Galaxy Theatre, Santa Ana CA Opening for DIAMOND HEAD (contact us for $12 discounted presale tickets)
September 4, 2011 - Whisky a Go Go, Hollywood CA. **Contact us for $13 presale tickets!**
September 22, 2011 - Suzy's Bar and Grill, Hermosa Beach CA. ALL AGES
**We are now accepting paypal payment for the Galaxy and Whisky shows! We will either meet up with you personally, mail you tickets or have them at will call by your request.
Stay Metal, -Sean Elston

To those who dig the epicness that is heavy metal,
About a month and a half has passed since I joined Sorizon and all the guys have been super awesome and have made me feel very welcome. I've had a great time at all the practices, hanging out and going over the songs from Emerald Starscape as well as learning the new material. I think it's safe to say I'll be sticking around for a while.
The recent writing/recording sessions have been going really well and every member has been contributing new and interesting ideas that move in different directions, yet still keep the Sorizon sound that you know and love. We have a few pretty heavy brand new demo tracks that are ready to be recorded for the next album and I know you will all be headbanging to them.
Our first show since late February is coming up this Saturday, June 11th at Que's Bar in Rosemead. This will be my first show with Sorizon so stop by and check out the new lineup! We also have another show at Que's the following month on July 16; However, you of course cannot forget about our show with Diamond Head at the Galaxy Theatre on August 18. You can check our Facebook page for all the details at Facebook.com/SorizonOfficial. Until next time...

Metalheads,
Sorizon's time of change is drawing to a close. After auditioning some solid candidates, we found our latest member, Tim Hall. He's going to shred out some sweet guitar action- we're happy to have him join the band. With Tim added to our lineup, we're going to need a lot of mics up on stage. Expect to hear some truly epic vocal harmonies in addition to some new blistering riffs. We'll be getting some new band photos with the newly completed lineup taken soon as well. A lot of us have made some gear changes lately in the never ending quest for The Ultimate Tone. I think we're closer than ever before.
We've been writing new material like crazy lately. It's moving in a lot of new sonic directions but it always stays heavy. We have about 10 songs sorted out and we expect to have a few completed in time for our next shows. Speaking of which, we lined up a gig at the Galaxy Theatre (www.galaxytheatre.com) for August 18th. It's going to be incredibly killer playing with some sweet NWOBHM bands. Diamond Head is headlining and we're super stoked to open for them. Contact any of us to get discounted tickets, we'll be selling them for $12 (otherwise it'd be $18 at the door).

Hey brothers and sisters of metal,
There are a lot of changes and action going on with the band at this point in time, some good and some not so good. We’ll get the not so good out of the way to end on a positive note ;). First off we are sad to announce that our guitarist Chris Tom will be leaving the band. We have no hard feeling what so ever in his departure. Chris will be moving to Hawaii where he originates from to be with his family and father during his remaining years. It has been an awesome adventure having him in the band as he is an extremely talented person and a great guy. Sorizon has now begun the first stages of looking for a guitarist to fill the spot and will hopefully be holding auditions within the next few weeks. We are also excited to announce that we now have new Sorizon t-shirts! The new shirts feature the “Beyond The Emerald Starscape” album cover and will be sold in sizes ranging from small to XXL at 15 bucks each, so be sure to come snatch one up at the next show. Speaking of shows we have one gig lined up for a newer venue in Lake Elsinore called the “Trevi” which will be held on April 30th [NOTE: THIS SHOW WAS CANCELLED], check out the website for more info. Last but not least the band is in the process of working on new material which is coming out pretty heavy if I do say so myself, so far we have about 5 new songs not far from being complete. We will keep you all updated in the world of Sorizon so stay tuned and stay metal!

After some successful winter gigs including our first Vegas show, we have been focusing on writing new material. We are still playing gigs and are gradually introducing new songs to our set. So far, our newest song has gone over really well with the crowds and we've been playing a new cover song that has been getting the crowd pumped as well. The first Sorizon music video will be made soon help us decide which song by doing this poll here: http://apps.facebook.com/opinionpolls/poll.php?pid=1294769899
Album cover T-shirts are coming soon, it's just a matter of comparing price quotes at this point. Check out our Live Dates section for some local shows coming up.

The band has a lot of big updates. First of all, we're proudly introducing Jack Payne to the band as our new bassist. The old songs sound kick ass with him and he's doing great things with our new material. Speaking of new material, we will be playing our first fully completed new song since Behind the Emerald Starscape at our upcoming shows. We have a few more new songs we're working on, and we are really excited about the new, more powerful sound. Also in the works is a Sorizon documentary, music video, and new Emerald Starscape Cover Art T-Shirts.
Stay Metal
