EXCLUSIVE 4 NEW SONGS to listen to at www.sorizon.net
3/04/2013
Friends and fans of Sorizon,
It's freakin March! You know what that means! Actually, yeah, I don't really know either. There is probably some cool shit happening somewhere though. While you're figuring it out, you should probably go ahead and listen to new Sorizon songs from the upcoming album. Wait, what!?!?!?! Yeah dude, we posted 4 brand new songs from the yet-to-be-released SOMNUS album (that we will be playing live) for you to stream and get all righteously super duper pumped for our show next Saturday at DiPiazzas in my current city of residence, Long Beach!
So... right now, hit the pause button on your Taylor Swift and Carly Rae Jepson (you can always go back to it later) and be prepared to headbang and shred air guitar by yourself in your room. You should probably make sure you have a mirror so you can see how ridiculously awesome you look.
Stream the new songs HERE
Facebook event page for DiPiazzas show HERE
Our new bassist Kevin is contributing a lot in the field of adding new bass licks to new and old songs, and he is taking the roll of adding even more vocal harmonies when we play live. And if you haven't seen what he looks like yet, you're gonna be like, "dude..."
I gotta say, I'm pretty psyched that our voices are set up perfectly for a barbershop quartet. If that ever happens (in fairytale land with epic dragons and unicorns battling whilst soaring into the horizon, I mean Sorizon), we'll have Sean backing us up with some gnarly double bass triplets or gallop rhythms. Or he could probably just play piano because he's multi-talented like that. Booyah.
The latest mixes of the new songs sound way better than ever before. No really, they sound amazing. Everything is really coming together and we're close to finishing. I could give you another estimated release date, but I don't want to pull a 'Wintersun' and make you all wait six years thinking it's going to come out every four months. All I can say is, be ready...
- Tim

As I sit here and contemplate what exactly to write to the hundreds, Nay, Thousands of Sorizon friends and fans whom I have never met, I wonder which direction to take this news letter of sorts. You will soon learn to love my crude sense humor and uncanny ability to not take anything too seriously. Any who. That being said. Lets start at Danny, Sean and I meeting up at a bar for the first time to talk and see if we were on the same page.
(This is my take on how it went down, this is in NO WAY accurate)
Danny: Hey man, im Danny Mann and this is Sean.
points to the fellow next to him, who oddly takes a bow to everyone in the room like he was about to conduct an orchestra
Me: Howdy Partners! Names Kevin, but you can call me Kev or Vin for short.
im still debating weather or not his last name is really Mann. He lucked out in the name pool!
Sean: Where are ya from? (as he stares uncomfortably longingly into my eyes)
Me: Pennsauken, New Jersey. A kick ass little town outside of Philadelphia.
Danny: Awesome Bro! I love that town! So what bands have you been in before? Whats your experience?
Dannys armpits uncontrollably sweating with excitement, all he can think to himself is "dang this dude is handsome." and "should i get the Salmon or the Gumbo?"
Me: My most recent projects were Mensrea (tech thrash metal featuring members of GWAR) and Throne from Royalty (heavy rock all star band out of Jersey). Ive been playing in bands for about 17 years now and touring the counrty since just after high school.
Now im sweating like crazy cause i can see that Danny has almost soaked through his shirt, over having the great food debate of 2012 going on in his head! And where are the 5 beers i telepathically ordered!! ARGGHHH
Sean: Totally Radical! So you are new to Cali? (still staring at me intently, never blinks, never even looks at the menu)
Sean and Dannys telepathy beers arrive to the table. FUCK!!! forgot mine!!
Me: Excuse me kind sir, I think you may have forgot mine?
Sir: Nope, You. Didnt. Order. One!
Looking me right in the eyes and proceeds to cough in my face, then so rudely just walks away
Me: Uhhh.. Ok... So, yes im new to California and loving it! Im a total beach babe as you can tell.
as I point to my privates. This make it even more uncomfortable of a first date
Danny: Thats TESTACULAR!! (he did the thing when you want to say two words, but mix them together somehow. Testicles and Spectacular. Not really sure which word he was actually going for though)
Me: Totes!
Sir comes back to take our order
Sir to Danny: Can I take your order?
Danny: Huh??
Sir to Sean: and you?
Sean: Meat and Cheese Plate pweeese.
Sir to Me: You smell like manure, so ill just order for you. (I swear i saw him jot down "turd wrapped in burnt hair" for my order. I fuckin saw it!!)
Sir back to Danny: Has my handsome little man decided? Grilled cheese? Hot Dog? Maybe the chicken fingers would cure your big boy appetite?? (said like he was talking to a little kid, as if i needed to explain that given the text)
Weird looks from everyone
Danny: . . . . . . . . . uhhh. . . . can i have another min
Me interrupting Danny: HE WANTS THE FUCKIN SALMON!!
We proceed to leave immediately after ordering, not to mention, i could go on all night making up stories of our misadventures that we havent really had yet! And reading back on this, it seems we would only have been at the bar for about 2 minutes. So I may have missed a few key points of dialog. those details arent important.
So from there, all the awkwardness aside, I was invited to try out for the band and was STOKED!!!! I was searching through tons of musicians since i had gotten to California, and looking for the perfect match of dudes that were fun, down to earth, and were gonna challenge my playing. And ohhh they did. The chip was quickly knocked off my shoulder once i met Tim and Keith and saw the caliber of musicians I was about to be playing with in Sorizon! And i couldnt be happier!
As i end my first Sorizon news letter, i just want to tell everyone to come on out and support!! I am dying to meet every fan and every friend of the band! I love talking to new people and cant wait to rock the fuckin stage for ya!!!!!!!! Shows are starting to get booked, the album is coming together, and i plan on exhausting every resource I have to help bring this band to the level it deserves to be at!! RAWK!!!!!!

So that's our new bassist Kevin haha! As you can tell, he's a hilarious, charming man (boy did he nail that first date) with mega bass chops, so we are really stoked to welcome him to the Sorizon family! In other news, we placed 2nd in the Project Independent competition by just 1 point!!! We are so grateful to everyone that helped support by coming out to our Whisky show and voting online for us last month- seriously, we have the best friends, fans and family. Lastly, we have finally released the front cover artwork for our new album SOMNUS by Dennis Hamilton... check it out here. Read the caption to learn the inspiration behind the artwork (which also inspired the new song "Illusions").

Friends and fans of Sorizon,
Big news! Remember when Sorizon played the Whisky-a-go-go last September? Well Project Independent has accepted us to participate in their annual contest to win a ton of new gear and go on a national tour lasting four fortnights! For those of you who do not know radical outdated ancient speak, that means two months of stage-shredding across the US. There are a mere 48 other bands involved in this and there is only one other band from California that was accepted to participate. We are honored to have this privilege, but we need your help!
On December 1st, an online voting process begins at www.projectindependent.net. Here you can vote for Sorizon and help us win this thing! While there are other factors that contribute to the winner of the contest, the online voting is key.
Okay, enough about that. Did you check out the website yet? It has been thoroughly updated. You can now buy CDs and t-shirts directly from the website under the "Merchandise" tab. You can even stream and download the entire "Behind The Emerald Starscape" album for free (Whaaaat!?!) Oh yeah, does anyone want to see the cover art for the new album? How about the track list? Stay tuned ;)
We'd also like to give a shout out to all of our thousands of new fans that have discovered us in the last month. To all the new fans from Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Nepal, India, Portugal, Spain, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia and more... Gracias & Thanks to everyone for joining the Sorizon family. The future is looking pretty epic.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING \m/
- Tim
P.S. We have had a few bassist auditions that went well, but we are still accepting auditions and hope to fill the bassist position ASAP! Contact us for details. [note from Danny]

This is Sean bringing you the monthly Sorizon update. Unfortunately as most of you know we're in the process of looking for a new bassist. If you do know of someone that would like to play in our band please help us out it's not easy to find the right bassist. The last that I heard we do have at least 3 bassists who are going to be trying out in the near future, hopefully they kick ass at their instrument and we can go back to playing shows and promoting our new album.
Onto info about the new album. BREAKING NEWS the name of the new album will be titled SOMNUS. The artwork has been recently finished for CD case front and back, the subject being epic Underwater Apocalypse Radness, I think you will like it.
Tracking for the album is pretty much finished and has been for about a month or so. Last week Danny got inspiration to create a new lead guitar part over the intro of the album that we're all super happy with, after hearing the lead everyone in the band instantly said something along the lines of "Yes I like that!" Probably everyone that hears the album will have the same reaction.
It's hard to say when the new Sorizon album will be released. When your writing, producing, recording, editing, mixing your own band's music there is a lot of strong opinions about how things should be done, sound, organized, changed, or not changed, etc. Yes there has been a lot of heated debates already and there will be more, but this is understandably normal. Moving ahead knowing how confident I am that the music is Amazing there really is no reason to give up now on the finished product. So...It will be finished when its ready, and when it is I can guarantee it will be something worth giving a listening.
See you at the next gig!

I'll cut to the chase. Jack is leaving the band and here is his official statement:
"My metal friends,
I'm going to be traveling a lot in the next few months so I must announce my departure from Sorizon. It's been a lot of fun playing music with these guys and creating some new incredibly heavy songs. I will be playing the next two shows at Whisky-A-Go-Go on 9/2 and our set on 9/8 at Thrashyr Metal Fest 3. After that I'm off to new adventures. With lots of interesting music and everyone's most excellent attitudes, Sorizon will find a new player to finish the most epic lineup yet."
Jack is one hell of a bassist and a good friend, so we are bummed to see him go. Still, we respect his decision and we need someone who is available to play a lot of shows to launch our new album this fall/winter. Sorizon is officially on the hunt for a new bassist. If you or anyone you know would be interested in auditioning please email us at sorizonmetal@gmail.com for details.
Since these are Jack's final shows, we want to see everyone out there showing their love, headbanging, and moshing skills for a proper farewell. Our Whisky tickets are $15 and for the Thrashyr Metal Fest show we have a limited amount of FREE tickets! Please contact us ASAP for either.
By the way, in case you heard about our Sept 30th show, we have cancelled that so we can focus on auditioning bassists and wrapping up the new album. Also, the studio diary videos are now featured in the "Multimedia" section of the website. See you all at the shows \m/

What's up friends and fans? This is Keith letting you know what's going on with band. We have some exciting news, first off recording is going well, we are done tracking for the most part and are in the process of doing some editing and first stages of mixing. Everything is sounding very heavy thus far and we cannot wait to finish up and show everyone what we have been working on. We have also found an artist who has begun laying out the design for the album cover and back side and let me tell you it is looking epic. The theme for the design is based on an apocalyptic type dream that Danny Mann had that is also the theme for one of the new songs. We also have some shows coming up for the first time since our last show at hob in December so we are pretty excited to give the new material a go and get back on stage. We will be playing September 2nd at the Whisky A Go Go (contact us for tix) so be sure to check out the LIVE DATES tab on the website and our facebook for info on that as well as the other upcoming shows. We have also posted a new studio diary HERE with me tracking some stuff and acting like a dork Haha as well as some acoustic recording and solo stuff so also check that out if you haven't already. That's it for now, we will be sure to keep everyone updated with the album as it progresses. Hope everyone is having an epic summer.
Cheers
-Keith

Friends and fans of Sorizon,
This is Tim here reporting the latest radness that has been happening with Sorizon this past month. Jack has kicked everyone's ass by recording some of the most killer bass work that is far superior to most. I mean this very literally. The new tracks are filled with ballsy low end brutality with virtuosic taps and unexpected shifting bass harmony. However, it is perfectly simplified and pleasantly mellow when appropriate.
Check out our second studio diary video HERE which shows our progress since the last video. In it, Jack talks about his bass gear and our recording gear and you can see his thoroughly ridiculously fast fingers. You'll also get a sneak peek at a couple more of our new tracks. If you have yet to see our first studio video, click HERE.
We have now finished re-amping all of the bass guitar and have moved on to recording vocals. The first track that Keith recorded sounds so incredible. Both the quality of the recording (which we have our awesomely overpriced microphones and preamps to thank) as well as the power of Keith's voice sound super gnarly, the good kind of gnarly. I am overly psyched to listen to the finished vocal products.
Sorizon was featured in an article on the Project Fresh website which you can check out HERE.
We also just did an audio interview for Rok Out Radio this past week with Lady Spitfire. She was super cool and now we have another online radio station blasting our tunes.
For the next month or so, we will be finishing up recording vocals, as well as recording all of Danny's and my shreddy lead guitar action. All I can say is that you will not be disappointed by lack of harmony epicness or anything like that; that's for sure. You will overdose on that shit. Until next time...
-Tim

Hello metalheads!
This is Jack reporting in on the current album progress. I've been tracking for a few weeks now and filling in the low end of the truly epic recordings that Sean, Tim and Danny have begun (see the our first Official Studio Video posted above). It's challenging work but the I love a challenge, especially when the end product is so rad.
I've been using my Rickenbacker 4003 to track these parts because it has such a meaty raw sound- there's a reason those basses have been used on everything from Deep Purple to early Metallica (Cliff Burton anyone?). I haven't been using my amp yet, but we are going to reamp the signal and make sure that I get the absolute gnarliest tone possible. Almost all guitarists use tube amps, but for some reason many bass players don't favor them as highly. Well, being a total gearhead (like everyone else in the band) I love the sound and feel of a nice fat tube amp. I can't wait to finish up the tracks and run them through my rig- it is going to sound awesomely brutal.
After I finish up with this stuff I believe Keith is next on the lineup to track some of his signature insane vocals. I've heard the stuff he has written for the album and it sounds oh so sick. I truly believe that Sorizon is creating something memorable and I'm really stoked to be part of this project.

Hello internet this is Sean from Sorizon bringing you this month's Sorizon newsletter. This is going to be all about recording our second album (the name is yet to come) since we're right in the middle of recording it. I'll start off by talking a little bit about the concept of the type of sound that we're trying to achieve.
BIG UPDATE: DRUMS AND RHYTHM GUITARS ARE FINISHED FOR 9 SONGS ON THE NEW SORIZON ALBUM!!!!!!! THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SONGS IS A SECRET EVEN I DON'T KNOW.
One day this idea got in my head that this Sorizon album needs to be recorded live. Most of my favorite Rock records from the old days were recorded live, there's nothing like it when all the instruments are in one room grooving and riffing off each other. With much effort convincing the band everyone adopted the live idea, but due to physical limitations we're only recording drums and guitars at the same time. It hasn't been easy recording live, everyone has so far had some break down due to the sheer stress of going through all the takes (and mistakes) as a team. Quoting Tim from what I can remember, "I just can't play this part anymore, my brain is not functioning, the more I play this the more it becomes a blur, it just gets worse and worse." The reason I can joke about this is because only one hour after Tim said those things we had finished recording 2 difficult songs for both drums and guitars in one day. All it usually takes to regain our composure is the sight of daylight for a few minutes then it's back into the garage of doom!
For this recording (me being the drummer I'll start with the drums) I want the drums to sound huge and spacious, like Led Zeppelin . I did a lot of research on how to get a sound like that on drums and it turns out, big drum sounds = big room, and this is a problem because our normal studio practice space is only 8 feet by 10 feet. Long story short Tim's house has a detached garage (more like a barn with vaulted 15' tall ceilings) that is mostly empty. So we set the drums up in there in one corner with 16 mics, guitars off to the side with 4 mics, and 2 room mics in the opposite corner about 20 feet away from the drums. I really wanted to get away from using drum triggers/sound replacement/sampling which are all techniques that make drums sound super cool but!, and it's a big but, it makes the performance sound fake to me. Overall the drums are sounding amazing and we're capturing the sound that I imagined in my head.
Although I do contribute a lot to the recording process, both Tim and Danny made all the choices on how to capture their guitar sounds , so I'll leave it up to them to explain the guitar tone in a future news letter.
Jack and Keith are both eager to contribute their part to the recordings. I heard Jack has restrung his bass 2 times recently in preparation for tracking. Keith has really up'd his game for this album. We have made demos for everyone song on the album so far, Keith has put his vocal parts/harmonies/lyrics to all of these. The whole band openly discusses the strengths and weaknesses of the music and the vocals and then we go back and reiterate our work, in some cases multiple times. Thank you Keith, and everyone else for the hard work. Ok that's a wrap Sorizon OUT!

Hey Sorizonheads,
In case you haven't already been blasted on Facebook, a few great things are happening for Sorizon right now and we want to share them with all of you!
First, voting is now open for the Project Independent metal band competition to win about $50,000 in prizes and endorsements and to go on a 60 day national tour next year! If you saw us at the Whisky in September, you were a part of the beginning of this process were we received a perfect score on our judged performance (and all around band professionalism). That was the first step and to advance further we need everyone to vote for us at www.projectindependent.net! No email address required! You can vote once a day and after Dec 10th, we'll see if we advance to the next round. We really need everyone's help, it just takes a couple seconds a day.
Next, we're going to be on the KUCI Nerd Metal show tonight from 9-10pm with our friends Cerebellion. We will be promoting our House of Blues show on Tuesday and giving away a couple tickets to callers! If you're in OC listen at 88.9 FM and if you're anywhere else you can listen at KUCI.org.
Lastly, be sure to come to our House of Blues show on Tuesday!! It's going to be really fun and our last show for a while before we hit the studio to record our second full-length album.
Have a very metal weekend everyone

Whats up our loyal metal soldiers? The month of massive turkey slaughter and gut stuffing is upon us, a perfect time for Sorizon to start getting serious with our new material. After a crazy month of shows in October (which was a lot of fun) we are finally weaning off gigs in order to focus on our new songs. The October shows were awesome! We played two halloween sets in which we all rocked out in our get ups and had the honor of opening up for the metal veterans Anvil at the legendary Coach House. The preparation for the new album is going very well and we are all very excited to get this thing rolling. If you havent been to a show in a while I can tell you that the new songs will definitely satisfy your metal appetite. They are heavier with the introduction of 7 string guitars, they are faster and another thing that is very cool is that we have alot more collaboration between all band members in the writing of the new material. We are hoping to start tracking in December and we'll keep you updated along the way. We are playing a special final show of the year on the 6th of December. We will be performing at the House of Blues in Anaheim for a toy drive show with our friends Cerebellion. We are all very stoked to be playing this show as we have yet to play a show at this venue. Tickets are 10 bux pre-sale and they are also doing a raffle in which you can win Disneyland passes and other great prizes if you bring a toy for charity, go to our Facebook page to rsvp and get more info. Some other exciting news is that our last album "Behind the Emerald Starscape" is now available for purchase on Amazon.com, so if you or anyone you know would like to buy a copy, that is another one of the many resources to get it. We are also crossing our fingers in hopes to get it on Pandora so we shall see what becomes of that. Well...thats it for now, we will be sure to keep all you metal heads updated with whats new and exciting in the world of Sorizon. Have an epic Holiday and month of November! Eat drink and be Metal! Cheers
-Keith
PS. Keep checking our Facebook for some great live Sorizon videos within the next few days by Alexis Villa and his crew! - Danny

Friends and fans of Sorizon,
There has been like infinity tons of awesomeness happening with Sorizon lately. Since the last update, we played the show with Diamond Head at the Galaxy Theatre and we were also a part of Project Independent & Metal Sanaz's metal showcase at The Whisky A Go Go. Project Independent will be making a documentary of their US tour which will feature Sorizon. A perfect score of 30 out of 30 was given to us by the crew so we are all pretty psyched about that. In addition to these big shows, we also had a few shows at bars in LA and OC. If you made it out to any of these shows, we thank you for your support!
Thanks to our film crew from the Galaxy show, we now have three HD quality camera angles from our entire set. We've decided to wait to release this footage for future promo/music video stuff. The good news is we just recorded and filmed some live tracks for a new season of webisodes featuring the best local OC/LA bands by Alexis Villa and his crew. We can't thank him enough for all the work he's put into helping Sorizon with bad ass videos lately. The webisode video for Beauty in Darkness will be done really really soon! Keep an eye out for it in the next couple days.
The song-writing process is still going well and we have been playing 3 new songs live lately (plus a new instrumental intro) and have been getting amazing responses. In addition, we also have roughly seven more new songs which are nearly completed. I'd like to point out that this new material is very different (yet still supremely rad) from the first album but it sounds exactly like Sorizon and nothing else. Each song is serious very unique but they are all epic and heavy.
We have three shows at the end of this month including TWO Halloween shows where the band will perform in riduclous costumes- you will love it.
Thank you for taking an entire two or so minutes of your time to read this \m/ Until next time...
-Tim

Hello Sorizon Fans!
First off, we've had some really fun shows recently where we played extended almost hour long sets packed with new and old Sorizon tunes. We appreciate all the great feedback on the new songs we've played live namely "Captor of Dreams" and the doomy epic (~8 minutes) "Illusions." For the new album, more vocals and lyrics have been written recently, and they sound kick ass! Just a couple more songs need to be hashed out instrumentally then it will just be vocals needed to complete our demoing of the upcoming album. We're working hard on collaborating in every aspect of the creation of this new album so the finished product will reflect everyone's hard work and ideas. Also, Jack and Tim are contributing some songs that offer new perspectives, but fit in perfectly with the Sorizon sound.
I think it's safe to say that the theme of the next album is dreams. Both the lyrical and musical content have mostly been inspired by dreams of some sort, sometimes personal ones that we experienced. The new Sorizon music is getting heavier, more powerful, and "mature" while furthering our main goal of creating a new style of metal that has a lot of feeling. The addition of Tim and Jack has expanded our creativity and live show quite a bit. You really have to see us live if you haven't come out to the last few shows. There's a newfound energy and chemistry on stage that we are loving! We have two big ALL AGES shows coming up where we need everyone's support. We are selling discount tickets to these shows, so please purchase through us ASAP! Again, we have a PayPal account for anyone who can't meet in person for their tickets.
August 18th 8pm at the Galaxy Theatre, Santa Ana. Opening for Diamond Head (and an international tour from England)
September 4th 8pm at the Whisky A- Go Go, Hollywood for an all day metal festival
Lastly, you need to check out the new "Members" section of the official Sorizon website: www.sorizon.net. You'll get a personal, in depth perspective on each band member written by other bandmates. They are really fun to read if I may say so myself. Everyone is really happy to work with each other, and I think it will really show when we play live and with the quality of the next album.

Hello fans of Metal!!!!
This is the Sorizon news letter for the month of July 2011 brought to you by Sean. Right now is a very exciting time. To count the amount of new Sorizon songs takes more than your two hands worth of fingers......"I KNOW HOLY SHIT".....which means Sorizon is very close to cashing in these songs to create what will be the 2nd official Sorizon album. Sorizon has been fortifying its efforts to make this new album a "historical achievement in what is the history of Heavy Metal"....as well as spending thousands of dollars on overpriced equipment :)...to make things sound "HEAVY"!!!!
If you happen to run into Tim Hall the new guitar player of Sorizon congratulate him for learning the entire back catalog of Sorizon songs as well as the plethora of new ones, in a record breaking time.
Sorizon has been gaining momentum this month at an astounding rate. If they keep on this trajectory they will reach the moon by early next year. To those who dig the epicness that is heavy metal,
About a month and a half has passed since I joined Sorizon and all the guys have been super awesome and have made me feel very welcome. I've had a great time at all the practices, hanging out and going over the songs from Emerald Starscape as well as learning the new material. I think it's safe to say I'll be sticking around for a while.
The recent writing/recording sessions have been going really well and every member has been contributing new and interesting ideas that move in different directions, yet still keep the Sorizon sound that you know and love. We have a few pretty heavy brand new demo tracks that are ready to be recorded for the next album and I know you will all be headbanging to them.
Our first show since late February is coming up this Saturday, June 11th at Que's Bar in Rosemead. This will be my first show with Sorizon so stop by and check out the new lineup! We also have another show at Que's the following month on July 16; However, you of course cannot forget about our show with Diamond Head at the Galaxy Theatre on August 18. You can check our Facebook page for all the details at Facebook.com/SorizonOfficial. Until next time...

Metalheads,
Sorizon's time of change is drawing to a close. After auditioning some solid candidates, we found our latest member, Tim Hall. He's going to shred out some sweet guitar action- we're happy to have him join the band. With Tim added to our lineup, we're going to need a lot of mics up on stage. Expect to hear some truly epic vocal harmonies in addition to some new blistering riffs. We'll be getting some new band photos with the newly completed lineup taken soon as well. A lot of us have made some gear changes lately in the never ending quest for The Ultimate Tone. I think we're closer than ever before.
We've been writing new material like crazy lately. It's moving in a lot of new sonic directions but it always stays heavy. We have about 10 songs sorted out and we expect to have a few completed in time for our next shows. Speaking of which, we lined up a gig at the Galaxy Theatre (www.galaxytheatre.com) for August 18th. It's going to be incredibly killer playing with some sweet NWOBHM bands. Diamond Head is headlining and we're super stoked to open for them. Contact any of us to get discounted tickets, we'll be selling them for $12 (otherwise it'd be $18 at the door).

Hey brothers and sisters of metal,
There are a lot of changes and action going on with the band at this point in time, some good and some not so good. We’ll get the not so good out of the way to end on a positive note ;). First off we are sad to announce that our guitarist Chris Tom will be leaving the band. We have no hard feeling what so ever in his departure. Chris will be moving to Hawaii where he originates from to be with his family and father during his remaining years. It has been an awesome adventure having him in the band as he is an extremely talented person and a great guy. Sorizon has now begun the first stages of looking for a guitarist to fill the spot and will hopefully be holding auditions within the next few weeks. We are also excited to announce that we now have new Sorizon t-shirts! The new shirts feature the “Beyond The Emerald Starscape” album cover and will be sold in sizes ranging from small to XXL at 15 bucks each, so be sure to come snatch one up at the next show. Speaking of shows we have one gig lined up for a newer venue in Lake Elsinore called the “Trevi” which will be held on April 30th [NOTE: THIS SHOW WAS CANCELLED], check out the website for more info. Last but not least the band is in the process of working on new material which is coming out pretty heavy if I do say so myself, so far we have about 5 new songs not far from being complete. We will keep you all updated in the world of Sorizon so stay tuned and stay metal!

After some successful winter gigs including our first Vegas show, we have been focusing on writing new material. We are still playing gigs and are gradually introducing new songs to our set. So far, our newest song has gone over really well with the crowds and we've been playing a new cover song that has been getting the crowd pumped as well. The first Sorizon music video will be made soon help us decide which song by doing this poll here: http://apps.facebook.com/opinionpolls/poll.php?pid=1294769899
Album cover T-shirts are coming soon, it's just a matter of comparing price quotes at this point. Check out our Live Dates section for some local shows coming up.

The band has a lot of big updates. First of all, we're proudly introducing Jack Payne to the band as our new bassist. The old songs sound kick ass with him and he's doing great things with our new material. Speaking of new material, we will be playing our first fully completed new song since Behind the Emerald Starscape at our upcoming shows. We have a few more new songs we're working on, and we are really excited about the new, more powerful sound. Also in the works is a Sorizon documentary, music video, and new Emerald Starscape Cover Art T-Shirts.

Cheers

Anyways, in all seriousness there's no better time to see a Sorizon concert than now. The healthy catalog of Sorizon shows should suffice the needs of even the most demanding of Metal fans. Upcoming Sorizon shows will feature at least 2 new original songs!
The members of Sorizon will be honored to see you at any (or all) of the following Sorizon shows:
July 16, 2011 - Que's Bar w/Aurora Black, Rosemead CA 21+
July 29, 2011 - Malone's Bar, Santa Ana 21+
August 1, 2011 - Rock's, Laguna Niguel 21+
August 18, 2011 - Galaxy Theatre, Santa Ana CA Opening for DIAMOND HEAD (contact us for $12 discounted presale tickets)
September 4, 2011 - Whisky a Go Go, Hollywood CA. **Contact us for $13 presale tickets!**
September 22, 2011 - Suzy's Bar and Grill, Hermosa Beach CA. ALL AGES
**We are now accepting paypal payment for the Galaxy and Whisky shows! We will either meet up with you personally, mail you tickets or have them at will call by your request.
Stay Metal, -Sean Elston

Stay Metal
